First day of no death amid 230 new cases of COVID in Manipur

According to the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the Manipur government, during the testing of 1,896 samples, 230 fresh cases are detected on Thursday out of which 95 cases are reportedly from targeted testing in Wangoi assembly constituency.

With the addition of the day’s new cases Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally rose to 22,548 cases, out of which 2,918 were Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.

Meanwhile, the recovery tally of COVID-19 in the state also rose to 19,431, with the discharge of 172 patients including 15 CAPF personnel during the same period. Hence, the cumulative number of active cases of the disease is 2,886. The number included 196 CAPF). The recovery rate of the state stands at 86.17%, as per the update.

On Thursday, there is no report of death due to COVID-19 illness. This is the first time in which no death case due to the viral infection was recorded in the state since the beginning of September month.

The state had even recorded nine deaths in a single-day on November 2, even as deaths of three to five have been reported per day in the last around two months.
