In his address, L. Solomon, MES, ZEO Senapati, wished all the teachers a hearty “Happy Teachers’ Day,” adding that it is a day dedicated to honouring the noble profession of teaching and remembering the great philosopher, scholar, teacher, and former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is commemorated. He said it is an occasion to celebrate the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the minds and lives of generations.
The ZEO encouraged all teachers of the district that, as educators, it is essential to stay up to date with emerging tools, platforms, and digital teaching methods. By embracing technology, teachers not only enhance their own teaching efficiency but also meet the expectations and learning styles of a new generation of students. While celebrating the day dedicated to teachers, the ZEO wished not only to celebrate the profession but also the patience and dedication required to shape the minds and future of society, with the will to move forward with revitalized commitment in the near future.
Addressing the gathering, DC Mamoni credited her teachers for enabling her to reach her present position. She recollected the methods her teachers used and the values they inculcated during her school days, stating that the lessons learned in school shape one’s future.
The DC urged teachers to give students a strong foundation. She mentioned that the district has around 340 schools, including private and government schools, with 40,000–50,000 students, the majority of whom are studying in private schools. With systemic problems that cannot be solved overnight, the DC urged reflection on the role of teachers in the profession, particularly in providing a strong foundation in primary education. She emphasized that the future of hundreds of students lies in the hands of teachers. Under the theme “Revitalizing Commitment,” the DC reminded teachers that teaching is not only a profession but also a mission to shape the future of a generation. She expressed her expectation that some successful students would one day return to express gratitude to their teachers.
The DC stated that she has been monitoring the hardships schools face in terms of infrastructure and teachers through the ZEO, CEO, and ADC, in order to revitalize schools. Concerned about reforming government schools, she invited suggestions from teachers regarding the problems they face in order to address the issues. Taking the opportunity, the DC stressed the need to reform government schools in the district, to address flaws and bridge loopholes to pave the way for reforms and revitalize commitment.
She also proudly lauded some government schools in the district for their better performance in the Class X matric exams, as well as for producing toppers in the recently held Class X matric exams 2025.
