First Level Checking of EVMs for Ukhrul and Kamjong Concluded

Ukhrul: The First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs for Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts in regards to 43-Phungyar, 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai assembly constituencies was completed today at the FLC Hall, EVM Warehouse, Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul headquarters.

“As a preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election 2024, the first level checking process started on October 1 and ended on October 6, deploying 6 engineers from ECIL (Electronic Corporation of India Limited) Hyderabad, in the presence of all political parties representatives operating in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts,” stated Rang Peter, DC/DEO of Kamjong.

According to information made available, the process of FLC for Ukhrul district was completed on October 4, 2023. The status of EVMs and VVPAT after completion of FLC for Ukhrul district showed that the availability of Ballot Unit (BU) was 125, Control Unit (CU) was 293 and VVPAT was 251. Out of which, 243 BU, 260 CU and 215 VVPAT were certified as okay. 8 quantities of BU, 33 quantities of CU and 36 quantities of VVPAT were found defective during the checking process.

For Kamjong district, the availability of Ballot Unit was 139, Control Unit being 163 and VVPAT was 139. Out of which, 129 BU, 132 CU and 98 VVPAT were certified as okay. The defective quantities were 10 BU, 31 CU and 41 VVPAT.

“The defective EVMs and VVPATs will be shifted to the manufacturer ECIL within 7 days from the date of completion of FLC process in the district” stated Kengoo Zuringla, DC/Deo of Ukhrul.
