UKHRUL: A joint team of Behiang Police Station and 37 Assam Rifles apprehended four Myanmar nationals with 66 soap cases of suspected heroin in Manipur’s Churachandpur on Tuesday.
Security forces intercepted a two-wheeler, a Kenbo, in Bualkot village, Churachandpur, and arrested two Myanmar nationals identified as Thangsawmung (56) and Kamkhenmung (56), both from Chikha village, Myanmar. They also seized 22 soap cases of suspected heroin.
In another operation, two more Myanmar nationals were held from Behiang village, Churachandpur, along with 44 soap cases of suspected heroin. The apprehended were identified as Johnmung (31) Suanlin and Haukhul (55), also from Chikha village.

An FIR has been lodged under the provisions of the Foreigners Act and the NDPS Act at Behiang Police Station for further investigation.
Former Chief Minister, Biren Singh, took to X stating, “I appreciate the coordinated act of the joint team of Behiang Police Station & 37 Assam Rifles for arresting four Mayanmarese nationals with 66 soap cases of suspected heroin. This once again highlights how Manipur is being infiltrated by foreign illegal immigrants actively involved in drug trafficking.”
