Free Vaccination cum Awareness Programme was organized today at Tashar Village, Ukhrul District, Manipur by Covid-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee of the 44/AC Ukhrul in collaboration with the Tashar Katamnao Long (TKL). The programme was attended by Christian Home, SDO, Ukhrul, Medical doctors, nurses and para medical staffs.
Ever since the emergence of Covid-19 in the state of Manipur, fear and pressure have been mounting on mental health of the people which includes monetary problems, shortage of food items, loss of near and dear ones, worry of student’s career and loss of jobs among various others. Symptoms of anxiety, fear, despair, sadness, depression, sleep disorder, emptiness etc., are widespread that ultimately affected the mental health of the people.
There has been lot of hesitancy of taking vaccine within the community due to misconception and anti–vaccine propaganda being rolled out in the social media. It is obvious that misinformation has taken a deep root in the society which dispenses fear and despondency. Purposely to curb and mitigate all the hesitancy, misinformation, rumours, a Free Vaccination cum Awareness Programme was organized today.
Around 300 people from all ages of Tashar village participated the programme in which about 71 people got vaccinated today.
The Tashar Katamnao Long (TKL) would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Covid-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee of the 44/AC Ukhrul, especially MLA Alfred Kanngam Arthur under whose chairmanship the Committee is making all out efforts to bring hope and succour in the environment of despondency and fear. We also sincerely thank the Medical Team members including doctors, nurses and para medical staff who gave precedence to their duty for humanity over their personal interest during these dark days of pandemic.
