Ukhrul, May 30: Due to incessant rain, a retaining wall at Sihai Khunou, Ukhrul District, Manipur, collapsed and injured 46-year-old Atamla Shaiza, wife of Ramyo Shaiza.

According to a report received from the villagers, on May 29, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., the retaining wall of Vareingam Horam collapsed onto a neighboring house, destroying the kitchen. Mrs. Atamla Shaiza, who was in the kitchen at the time, was severely injured. She was evacuated and hospitalized at Ukhrul District Hospital with multiple injuries.

Sihai Khunou Village is located in the eastern part of Ukhrul District, 46 km from the District Headquarters.

It is reported that a landslide caused by incessant rain has cut off the Ukhrul–Tadubi Road. Reports are also coming in that landslides in various sections have cut off the Ukhrul–Jessami Road. Concerned authorities are working to clear the landslides. The water levels in the Rangatak Kong and Challou rivers are rising rapidly.
