KOHIMA: The Girl Guide Memorial Building at STC, Nerhema, was inaugurated on October 6 with Nini Meru, Life Member and First Vice Patron of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides (NSBSG), as the Special Guest.
Speaking during the inauguration programme after the ribbon-cutting, Meru urged young Scouts and Guides to understand that scouting and guiding is not merely a game or camp activity, but a preparation to face the challenges of life.
“We do not know what is ahead of us. We do not know what we are going to face,” she said, adding that the younger generation was at the beginning of its journey and needed to be prepared for different situations.
Meru said that through becoming a Guide or Scout, young people are trained to face various circumstances in life. “Do not think that it is just a game, but it is the way of training you to face life,” she said.
She further encouraged the youth to prepare not only for life but also for eternity, stressing the importance of faith in Jesus Christ.
“As a grandmother, as a mother, as a teacher, I’m telling you, be prepared for this life and for eternity,” Meru said.
