Global Naga Forum Urges De-escalation Amidst Kezoltsa Dispute

In an appeal to the Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO), the Angami Public Organization (APO), and the Mao Council, has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions surrounding the disputed Kezoltsa area, which lies between the Southern Angami and Mao communities.

The GNF, while refraining from taking sides in the dispute, underscored the importance of exercising caution and fostering empathy during these trying times. They emphasized the shared ancestral homeland of all Nagas and the collective responsibility to nurture it and each other for the common good.

Highlighting the historical struggles faced by the Naga people, the GNF lamented the divisive impact of inter-tribal disputes on the quest for unity and peace. They stressed the need for innovative approaches to resolving conflicts, urging both parties to withdraw provocative actions and engage in dialogue aimed at finding mutually beneficial solutions.

The Dzükhu Valley, renowned for its natural beauty and cherished by the Tenyimi tribes, serves as a poignant example of the potential consequences of allowing disputes to fester. The GNF warned against allowing Kezoltsa to suffer a similar fate, urging swift action to prevent further escalation.

In a call to Nagas worldwide, the GNF urged a reflection on shared history and aspirations, emphasizing the importance of understanding, dialogue, and a commitment to reconciliation. GNF also pledged their unwavering support to any initiative aimed at fostering peace and unity among the Naga people.
