The United Naga Council (UNC) was “deeply saddened” by the untimely demise of Henry Paotei, ex -MLA from Karong assembly constituency, on the night of June 8, 2021 at his home Vakho village in Senapati.

“The south Nagas have lost a dedicated Naga leader who always stood for the Naga cause particularly during his tenure as a Naga MLA,  even to the extent of tendering his resignation from MLA seat,” said UNC in a condolence message. It further said that Henry Paotei was a straight forward gentleman who stood to his inner conscience and calling. “He was a true Naga patriot,” the UNC added.

The UNC, while condoling his death, also joined with the bereaved family members for the sorrow and grief that, “may our good Lord comfort and give them solace at this hour of difficult time”.
