Manipur’s COVID-19 infection number crosses 57,000-mark

Manipur COVID-19 infection tally rose to 57,351 as 775 new cases were added in the last 24 hours.

The lives claimed by the coronavirus have also reached 915 in the state with seven more patients succumbing to COVID-19 related complications in the last 24 hours.

With the discharge of 602 patients upon recovery, the recovered tally also rose to 47,129 with 82.17% recovery rate. The state has currently 9,129 cases, as per the daily update report of the state health department.

The Health department report saw detection of 775 persons (419 males and 336 females) from the general population with the test results of 8,944 samples received in the last 24 hours.

Of the total new cases, 237 were from Imphal West, 165 from Imphal East, 112 from Thoubal, 109 from Churachandpur, 57 from Kakching and 48 from Bishnupur district.

Thirteen new cases were reported in Kangpokpi, 10 in Chandel, eight each in Senapati and Jiribam, four in Tengnoupal, two in Noney and one each in Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts. 

Of the seven persons who expired due to COVID-19 complications in the last 24 hours, three were from Imphal West and one each from Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Churachandpur district, according to the latest data of the health department.
