SENAPATI, Nov 7: Hills Academy of Science (HAS), Kathikho Karong, Senapati, has successfully organized its two-day Leadership Bootcamp from November 6 to 7, 2026. The bootcamp was organized with the main aim to develop leadership qualities in students, to build confidence in them and to improve their communication skills.
The two-day bootcamp was facilitated by Mr. Worrin Muivah, Founder of STEP Northeast, an alumnus of ISS, The Hague, Netherlands, and a Young India Fellow. Mr. Muivah shared his knowledge and experience with the students of Hills Academy of Science.

The camp focused on the development of skills that the students would require beyond the classroom. The skills that were developed included building of confidence, communication, public speaking and career readiness. The students were also made to realize their abilities and were encouraged to express their ideas and explore other career options.
The first day of the camp, ‘Own Your Presence’, was designed to explore the different ways in which students’ body language, communication skills and presence can affect their interactions with others. The day’s sessions included body movement and posture, use of hand gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, listening, use of voice, volume, pace and use of pauses.
The second day of the camp, titled ‘Own Your Voice and Future’, focused on speaking skills, public speaking and career readiness. The sessions covered tone, emphasis and articulation, as well as fillers and vocal clarity. On the second day of the camp, the students were challenged to deliver a 60-second speech on a topic of their choice. They were also given an insight into career opportunities other than the traditional ones, personal branding and self-presentation.

The school management further stated that the bootcamp was part of Hills Academy of Science’s effort to provide students with opportunities for all-round development. The school believes that education should go beyond academic performance and help students develop confidence, communication skills, critical thinking and the ability to face new challenges.
Through such initiatives, Hills Academy of Science is preparing its students for future challenges and opportunities.
