Over the years, Yarthot Kazip has evolved into an important platform for encouraging educational aspirations, strengthening community bonds and preserving Tangkhul cultural identity.
The annual gathering welcomes freshers arriving in Delhi to pursue higher education, prepare for competitive examinations, undertake professional courses or explore career opportunities. Beyond welcoming new students, the event provides a sense of belonging and a connection to their community as they begin a new chapter away from home.
Continuing this tradition, this year’s celebration also brought in new initiatives and perspectives through the participation of guests from diverse backgrounds, including social work, journalism and entrepreneurship.

The event was further supported through partnerships with businesses, including Kaphung Real Estate and Dine Estee.
A key highlight of this year’s celebration was the introduction of 20 freshers, who took the stage to formally introduce themselves to the wider Tangkhul student community in Delhi.
The freshers represent diverse educational backgrounds, interests and ambitions, united by the common experience of pursuing their aspirations away from home.
Their participation underscored the significance of Yarthot Kazip beyond an annual cultural gathering. It remains a platform for welcoming a new generation, fostering connections and encouraging young Tangkhuls to remain rooted in their identity while pursuing opportunities and contributing to the community.
Through the annual celebration, TKLD continues to strengthen intergenerational ties and nurture a sense of collective responsibility among Tangkhul students and young people in Delhi.
