Imphal: Continuous rainfall over the past few days has caused severe flooding in several areas of Wabagai and Kakching, significantly impacting paddy fields and fish farms. The Sengmai River breached its banks at Wabagai Thingel Leikai Turen Mamei, flooding nearby fields. Affected areas include Bedam Khong Mamang, Wabagai Tera Urak, and Sanalou, where fields have been submerged for days.

Wabagai MLA Dr. U Deben assessed the damage, while locals criticized the lack of government response. Around 200 hectares of farmland were affected, prompting calls for proper embankments.

In Kakching District, 100 hectares of paddy land at Maning Loukol were flooded due to repeated breaches of the Tarang River, with farmers seeking government aid.
