Kangpokpi: A three-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Program (ICOP) Cum Photo Exhibition focusing on Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was successfully organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Makhan in Kangpokpi District, a press release said.
Bob Wijunamai, serving as the Executive Officer and Chief Guest of the event, highlighted the paramount importance of voting rights and urged every voter to exercise their valuable vote judiciously after understanding the background of candidates, aiming to elect leaders capable of advancing the nation.
According to the press release, Guest of Honor, AB Kailamdinang, Makhan Village Chief, stressed the significance of electoral education for building a strong and developed society. He emphasized the responsibility of voters in selecting the right leaders for ensuring good governance.

Dr. Engam Pame, IIS, Regional Director, underscored the constitutional right to vote and emphasized ethical voting as a means to foster better governance and societal development. The Photo Exhibition, he mentioned, would continue for two more days, inviting locals, neighboring villagers, and students to benefit from the insightful displays.
Maisilungbou Chawangtingduimai, i/c District Informatics Officer, Kangpokpi District, enlightened the audience about ethical voting practices, legal provisions, and the use of technology such as Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). He also introduced the C-VIGIL mobile app by the Election Commission of India, designed to promptly report any election-related irregularities or violence, the press release added.
The program witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including MI Kaisungbou, Addl. Superintendent of Police, Senapati District, Hopeson, Dy. Commandant, CRPF, Dr. Thuankulung Newmai, Assistant Professor, and AB Humang, Chairman of Makhan Village, contributing to an enriching and informative event aimed at promoting informed and responsible electoral participation.
