Ukhrul: District administration Ukhrul organised International Day of Differently Abled Persons at DRDA hall, Ukhrul on Saturday.
The event was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), District Disability Rehabilitation Center (DDRC) and Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development Rehabilitation Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Imphal (CRCSRE).

Addressing the public, deputy commissioner of Ukhrul district, Krishna Kumar, IAS, who graced the function as chief guest exhorted and encouraged differently abled persons in the district to avail different scheme being provided by the centre and state for their benefits.
The district administration Ukhrul is also striving to reach out the DAPs through different mechanism so as to enable them bring equilibrium in the society, he informed, and urged them to get themselves registered in the electoral roll under PWD and avail special facilities.

As part of the event, altogether 50 differently abled persons were “distributed Aid and Appliance” like wheelchair, walking stick, hearing aid, cluster elbow and blankets, DIO/DIPR said.
The programme was attended by DSWO Kanghujam Nongpoknganba Salaicha and Nodal Officer DDRC, Yuman Dhanbir Singh as functional president and guest of honour.
