Japhou Youth Club & Chandel District Police Conducted Cleanliness Drive

Chandel: A one Day Cleanliness Drive was organized by Japhou Youth Club in collaboration with Chandel District Police on Thursday at Chandel district headquarters Japhou Bazaar and its surrounding.

Altogether about 140 members from Police personnel and Japhou youth club participated the cleanliness drive. The area covered includes Police Station area, DC Lamkhai, Japhou Bazaar main town, Japhou Dispensary, Maha Union Govt Hr Sec School Japhou road, SDO office area, Ima-Market Japhou Bazaar.

Under the support of SP Chandel, Hemant Pandey, IPS a strong police team led by Additional SP (Law & Order), Shankerjit S. Loitongbam, MPS and SDPO Chandel CL. Thotreithing MPS participated the cleanliness drive. According to Dr. Wanglar Somie, President Japhou Youth Club, the primary objective of the cleanliness drive was to keep Japhou Bazaar town and it’s surrounding areas neat and clean. Also, to revive the spirit of community service which is slowly fading away among the present youths in particular, he added.

The club members and police team collected garbage, bottles, plastic waste and sweep the main bazaar area to keep the main bazaar area neat and clean. The cleanliness drive ended with a group photo and refreshment provided by the police team at Ima-Market Japhou Bazaar.
