The football tournment features open category for men, open category for women, Pre-Veteran (35-40 years) and Veteran for men (above 41 years on the basis of aadhar card). The SOA football tournament opens a plethora of avenues for Monsang young and senior football players to hunt and showcase their skill and talents. For some, it is considered a litmus test to check the player stamia and health status. Many opines that the tournament is all about bringing the community together once a year through sports particularly football.
