Imphal: Vocal powerhouse Jeanpui Kamei from Churachandpur district emerged winner of the first edition of mega talent search ‘Bring It On! NorthEast India’, one of North East India regions’s largest talent hunts, entering sponsorship for America’s Got Talent (AGT) audition.
The competition was jointly organized by Echoes Music and Chiko Adventures as part of the latter’s ongoing North East Autumn Festival 2022 at Jorcheng, Lunghar, Ukhrul, Manipur. The contest which was open to all kinds of talents/acts saw participation of impressive candidates from across the Northeastern states of India.
As a winning prize the organizing team will be sponsoring Jeanpui to audition for America’s Got Talent (AGT).
The talent hunt was held online and Jeanpui was picked as the best from two rounds of video auditions and the winner gets an opportunity to audition for the next season of AGT for which an amount of up to Rs 1.5 Lakh will be provided by the organizer. The winner is also given a chance to claim the prize for any other national-level talent competition (i.e. in place of AGT audition) for which the sponsorship amount goes up to Rs. 1 lakh. The prize money will be disbursed once the winner is eligible to audition for either AGT or national level competition.

Speaking on the initiative, Khuisang Rungsung, manager communications, Echoes, said, “‘Bring It On! North East India’ was conceptualized with the prime purpose of presenting a platform to showcase talents from Northeast India to the world. We want to take Northeast talents to the next level”.
“We take pride in doing our bit to lay a path for budding talents in the region to attain the right exposure and better opportunities in the future, and Echoes intends to make ‘Bring It On! North East India’ a calendar event”, Rungsung added.
The 1st edition of the contest was open to all bonafide residents of the North East States (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) with no age bar.
Echoes’ event manager, Sanza K Shimray said, “The project was designed to encourage and inspire potential talents in the region and to create opportunities for gifted individuals to showcase their capabilities”.
Winner of the ‘Bring It On! North East India’ contest, 19-year-old Jeanpui Kamei will be displaying her amazing vocal talent at the Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 music extravaganza on the October 25 at Jorcheng Grassland, Lunghar where several renowned artists and personalities from northeast India are set to perform.
