The exotic ‘Kachai Lemon’ of Kachai village and vegetables of Halang village have been made available to public at reasonable rates through home delivery by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).
A team of MOMA, a unit of the State Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department went to Ukhrul district and procured the Kachai lemon and vegetables from Halang village directly from the farmers and is being kept in the godown of MOMA at Sanjenthong.
It may be mentioned that MOMA has been developed under the aegis of Chief Minister N Biren Singh with an aim to provide fresh vegetables and fruits at the doorstep at reasonable rates to contain the spread of COVID-19 and to provide a platform to the farmers to sell off their produce thereby preventing from incurring any form of loss amid the restrictions and curfew imposed by the Government.

Expressing gratitude to the team of MOMA for coming to Kachai village and purchasing around 400 kgs of Kachai lemon, Wungnaokan Pheirim (a farmer who grows Kachai lemon) said that the his major concern of finding a market to sell of the lemons amid this grim situation of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic have been solved by the team of MOMA by purchasing the lemons from him at adequate price.
The problem faced due to bad condition of roads while transporting the lemons from Ukhrul to Imphal has also been sorted, he added.
A farmer from Halang village, Shangshawung Huilen also thanked the team of MOMA for purchasing around 1.2 metric tonne of cabbage during this difficult phase.
He also extended gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for taking up such initiatives in order to solve the problem of farmers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
