Kasom Khullen SDO office organised tree plantation

Ukhrul: A tree plantation drive was carried out at Kasom Khullen sub-division headquarters by the sub-divisional administration of Kasom Khullen on Tuesday.

More than thousands of fruit bearing trees like apple, lemon, orange, jack-fruit, burmese grapes, guava, gooseberry etc and aesthetic trees like cherry and gulmohor were planted in and around government office premises, official said.

The initiative was led by Duna Duo, MCS sub-divisional officer along with Kasom Khullen, police personnel, medical staffs, area village chief/headmen and the local youth. The mass plantation was launched under the theme “Make an effort to plant atleast one tree a year”.

According to the young SDO who is an adherent environmentalist informed that the motive behind the initiative is to plant more trees especially around government establishment and offices. He continued that, he has been planting trees and advocating mass tree plantation since he joined the service in 2012. He appealed to all to be a warriors of protecting tress and help save the environment from human activities. He thanked all those who participated in the plantation drive.
