UKhrul, July 26: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) stated that the third Tripartite High-Level Committee meeting held in New Delhi has resolved several major contentious issues concerning the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT).
In a statement issued on Friday, ENPO stated that the meeting had “narrowed down the differences, except for some points to be settled from the side of the State government of Nagaland.
The meeting, convened at the new office complex of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) at Janpath, New Delhi, was attended by representatives of the Government of India (GoI), Nagaland government and ENPO.

The GoI delegation was led by union home secretary Govind Mohan and included Intelligence Bureau (IB) director Tapan Deka, additional secretary (Home-North East) Piyush Goyal, adviser (NE) AK Mishra, joint secretary (NE) Niraj Kumar Bansod and joint director (IB) Rakesh Kamble.
While the Nagaland government was represented by state home commissioner Anoop Khinchi and joint resident commissioner of Nagaland House, Delhi, Sharon Longchari, the ENPO delegation was headed by its president Chingmak Chang.
In its statement the ENPO noted that the union home secretary and all the MHA officials were very serious and practical on ENPO issues. It stated that the union home secretary directed the representatives of the Nagaland government to resolve their pending stands within a fortnight.

“The ENPO is very positive that all the parties involved will work towards resolving the remaining issues at the earliest and speed up the process for the establishment of FNT without delay,” the statement read.
The next round of the Tripartite High-Level Committee meeting is likely to be held in August.
