SENAPATI: Senapati is set to host the Khelo India Samvaad programme for the first time on August 27 as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations, providing young people a platform to engage in discussions on sports, fitness and nation-building.

The programme, organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will be held at Don Bosco College, Maram, and Asufii Christian Institute, Mao Punanamei.

The programme is open to all youth aged 15 to 29 years, including those who are not currently enrolled in schools or colleges. Students, working youth, unemployed youth, sportspersons and other eligible young people can participate in the programme.

Speaking at a press conference at the MY Bharat Office in Senapati on Tuesday, District Youth Officer P. Rebecca Rangnamei said the programme would be conducted in three sessions—two at Don Bosco College, Maram, and one at Asufii Christian Institute, Mao Punanamei.

The press conference also served as an outreach initiative to encourage eligible youth across Senapati to attend the programme on August 27, interact with officials and other participants, and become aware of various opportunities and platforms available through MY Bharat.

Officials urged young people, including those outside formal educational institutions, to come forward and participate.

The programme will feature a moderated interaction with a local sportsperson, addresses by public representatives and a Yuva Samvaad session, allowing participants to share their ideas and aspirations on sports, talent development, governance and youth-led nation-building.

A major highlight of the programme will be a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will be viewed by participants in Senapati.

Rev. Fr. (Dr.) K. B. Sebastian, Principal of Don Bosco College, Maram, said the initiative would help connect young people with the national vision for sports and fitness while creating a structured platform to capture their perspectives.

The programme will also facilitate MY Bharat registration, digital submission of suggestions through the MY Bharat Suggestions Box and promotion of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 Quiz.

Officials invited all eligible youth in Senapati to participate in the programme and make use of the opportunity to voice their ideas, learn about available opportunities and contribute to strengthening India’s sporting ecosystem and building a youth-led nation.
