Ukhrul, Dec 17: The Kiruphema Youth Organisation’s 50th Anniversary Celebration began today at Kiruphema Ground and will continue until December 21, 2024. The momentous occasion marks half a century of dedication to sportsmanship, cultural heritage, and community unity.

Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Nagaland’s first woman Cabinet Minister, graced the inaugural ceremony. She unfurled the KYO flag and released a Jubilee souvenir. As a token of appreciation, KYO presented 50 items to the minister. Later, she inaugurated the traditional seating area, the KYO “Badze,” alongside 13 living former KYO presidents.

In her address, Kruse congratulated the Kiruphema Youth Organisation on its 50 glorious years. She highlighted that the milestone reflects the community’s sportsmanship, cultural pride, and unity. She expressed gratitude to the pioneers whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for KYO’s success.

She commended the community’s solidarity across generations and stressed that resilience and hard work are the keys to future progress. Emphasizing the need for trustworthy leadership, Kruse called for leaders who act with integrity and purpose.

Drawing from Leviticus 25, she explained the concept of Jubilee—a sacred period symbolizing renewal, restoration, and freedom. She encouraged the community to embrace forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace, urging individuals to release grudges and seek harmony for a collective fresh start.

As Kiruphema entered a new era, Kruse inspired the youth to equip themselves with knowledge, skills, and values to face modern challenges. She concluded by calling on everyone to uphold the principles of renewal, unity, and hard work to create a future filled with peace, love, and harmony.
