Ukhrul, May 29: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ukhrul, under the ICAR Manipur Centre, today announced the launch of the nationwide Pre-Kharif Campaign, “Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan,” at its campus in Ukhrul.
This initiative, scheduled from May 29th to June 12th, 2025, will be implemented across all States and Union Territories of India.
The primary objective of the “Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” is to enhance agricultural development and increase farmer income within the Ukhrul and Kamjong districts by disseminating information regarding modern agricultural technologies and practices.

The launch event included a flag-off ceremony for three teams comprising scientists from ICAR/CAU and Subject Matter Specialists from the KVK. Dignitaries present at the ceremony included DAO, Kamjong, Esther Makan; DAO, Ukhrul, Varechon Raingam; and District Fishery Officer, Angam.
According to the Head of KVK, Ukhrul, Dr. Soibam Khogen Singh, the campaign aims to engage at least 100 farmers in each village, targeting nine villages per day across the two districts, thereby reaching approximately 900 farmers daily. The campaign will address farmer innovations and local farming issues to facilitate scientific interventions. The district-level launch was attended by 60 participants including officials from various line departments and farmers from across the district. Dr. Solei Luiram, SMS (Horticulture) coordinated the visit plans in consultation with local village authorities.
