UKHRUL:The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has reiterated its opposition to the formation and functioning of what it termed “unmandated” civil society organisations claiming to represent the Kuki community.
In a press release issued on March 3, the apex body stated that the clarification was made in pursuance of Resolution No. 14 adopted during its 31st General Assembly. The resolution had categorically condemned the establishment and functioning of certain organisations and forums, including the Kuki Human Rights Council, the World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council, and the Joint Forum of 7, alleging that they were formed without proper authorisation or mandate.
KIM asserted that such bodies, established without consultation with or acknowledgment of the broader Kuki populace, operate on what it described as “unfounded rationale” and often misrepresent the collective voice, vision, and aspirations of the Kuki people.
The organisation further stated that any issuance of press releases or attempts to represent the Kuki community without due authorisation would not be recognised.

Advising media houses, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations, KIM urged all concerned to refer only to institutions and organisations duly mandated by the Kuki Inpi Manipur in both official and non-official matters.
