Dimapur, Oct 17: On the “historic homecoming” of NSCN-IM general secretary Th. Muivah, the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) under NSCN-IM has said that all should extend co-operation and support in this regard.
In a statement issued on Friday, the KTU/NSCN said that after more than five decades, the “honourable Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah, the prime minister of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim) is set to return to his native village Somdal on October 22, 2025″. The KTU/NSCN said the “historic itinerary” will also include visits to Ukhrul and Senapati.

The KTU/NSCN then said Th. Muivah dedicated his entire life to the cause of Nagalim, proudfully shaping its destiny and championing the recognition of the Naga people’s unique history.
Under the leadership of the late Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah, a defining milestone was achieved with the signing of Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN on August 3, 2015 that will forever be etched in the annals of Nagas’ history.
The Kuki Tribal Union/NSCN then called upon all individuals, civil society organisations, churches, students’ bodies across Nagalim for fullest co-operation, “and let us all welcome to our honourable Ato Kilonser”.
The visit of “our honourable Ato Kilonser and his beloved wife will undoubtedly be a deeply emotional and momentous occasion”, the KTU/NSCN added. “Let us unite in a spirit of gratitude, solidarity and profound respect to witness and celebrate this historic moment”, it also said.

The Kuki Tribal Union/NSCN then said that the people lovingly call him Avakharar “for his unwavering commitment to the Naga cause and his vision for a sovereign Nagalim”. The Kuki Tribal Union then said that “on behalf of Kuki stakeholders within Nagalim” it pledged “our solidarity and support to the NSCN/GPRN leadership in their pursuit of a peaceful and lasting solution to the Naga issue”.
