Ukhrul: Manipur Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh chaired a high-level security meeting today to review the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur. The meeting was held at the Old Secretariat Conference Hall, Imphal, and was attended by top senior officials of the Army, Police, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and SSB.

Speaking after the meeting, Kuldiep Singh highlighted the formulation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure better coordination among security forces in the state. This, he opined, will improve the seamless deployment of security personnel to the fringe areas, national highways, and other critical locations. He also announced the plan to establish new district-level coordination cells and joint control rooms in each district.

Talking about the security deployment and looted arms, the security advisor disclosed that 288 companies of Central Security Forces are currently deployed in the state and that 3,000 looted weapons have been recovered so far.
On the recent abduction and killing of six civilians in Jiribam and vandalism, the Security Advisor said that intense operations are underway to catch the culprits. He also mentioned the arrest of at least 32 suspected individuals in connection with the vandalism of MLA’s residences in the valley areas.
