KYKL cadre nabbed in Manipur

Imphal: Police commandos attached with Imphal East district police on Tuesday arrested a cadre of the banned armed outfit, Kanglei Yeol Kanna Lup (KYKL) in a counter insurgency operation at Pourabi area under Lamlai police station of Imphal East district, according to police.

The arrested cadre has been identified as N. Ibomcha (43).

The police commandos launched the operation as a part of security measures in connection with the Sangai Festival which began on Monday.

As a part of the security measure, a police commando team conducted a search operation in the Pourabi area today morning. The police commandos intercepted the KYKL cadre near a community hall of the village, the police further said.

The arrested cadre has been handed over to Lamlai police station for necessary legal action against him, the police added.
