Labourer shot at in Manipur

A labourer was shot at and wounded critically by some miscreants in Manipur on Tuesday evening.

The victim was identified as Abdul Malik (25), son of Md Ali, who was engaged in the railway project in Imphal West district. He was immediately evacuated to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, where he was being treated, police said on Wednesday.

The miscreants fired at the victim near a shop at Awang Khunou under Patsoi police station of Imphal West district on November 17, around 5.30 pm, according to the police. The police further informed the labourer was attacked while on his way from worksite to buy a water bottle.

He was hit by a bullet on his right upper chest and exited on the back side. Further detail of the victim’s condition is yet to be ascertained.
