CHANDEL: A delegation of Lamkang community leaders on Tuesday visited relief camps at Tangkhul Avenue in Imphal and Makhan in Kangpokpi district, where they met families of the six Naga civilians abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village and killed on May 13, 2026.
The delegation comprised representatives of several Lamkang civil society organisations, including the Lamkang Naga Kver Kunpun (LNKK), Lamkang Naga Snu Lop (LNSL) and Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK). Leaders from the Evangelical Lutheran Church Association (ELCA), Women’s Lutheran Church Association (WLCA), the Lamkang Naga Baptist Association (LNBA) and the Lamkang Catholic Association (LCA) also joined the visit.

During the visit, the delegation handed over cash assistance and bags of rice to the bereaved families. They said the support, though modest, was intended as an expression of solidarity and the enduring bond among the Naga people.
The delegation also urged the Manipur government to expedite the legal process and ensure justice for the six civilians killed in the incident.
A prayer service at the Tangkhul Avenue relief camp was led by Rev. Dr. Rengnong Dilbung, Executive Secretary of the Lamkang Naga Baptist Association, while the service at the Makhan relief camp was led by Kh Peter, President of the Lamkang Catholic Association.
