The apex body of Lamkang tribe Civil Society Organizations, consisting of Lamkang Naga Kver Kunpun (LNKK), Lamkang Naga Snu Lop (LNSL), and Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK), through this press statement, would like to bring to the attention of the concerned authorities that Mr. Sn. Stevenson Lamkang, aged 26 years, s/o Mr. Sn. Bungdon Lamkang of Charangching Khunkha village, was abducted by unknown gunmen in camouflage on 4th June 2024 between Tengnoupal and Saivom Village under Tengnoupal District.
- Mr. Sn. Stevenson Lamkang, aged 26 years, s/o Mr. Sn. Bungdon Lamkang of Charangching Khunkha Village, Chandel, was seen leaving Moreh Bazar at around 2:00 pm, driving an Eeco Van bearing registration no. MN04P-1921 on 4th June 2024.
- On the way at around 4:00 pm, his vehicle was seen being checked by security personnel wearing camouflage uniforms near the under-construction bridge of Khongkhang Village.
- Thereafter, the vehicle was seen heading towards Tengnoupal Headquarters with one armed security personnel on board.
- As per the CCTV footage of the AR checkpoint at Sita Lamkhai, the Eeco Van, along with the driver and one security personnel on board, was seen crossing the checkpoint without any entry, accompanied by two vehicles who identified themselves as CRPF personnel to the Assam Rifles personnel posted at the checkpoint.
- The said Eeco Van was found abandoned near Saivom Village, and the driver, Mr. Sn. Stevenson Lamkang, could not be traced as his phone has been switched off.
- An FIR has been filed at Tengnoupal Police Station on the morning of 5th June 2024 with GD entry No. 09/TPL-PS/2024/05/06/2024.
An ultimatum to the concerned Authority/Government to release the innocent boy, Mr. Sn. Stevenson Lamkang, within the next 24 hours. If not, intense agitation or necessary actions will be taken.
