Manipur 2022 polls: 2nd round of women polling personnel training for Ukhrul & Kamjong held

Ukhrul: The 2nd round of women polling personnel training for Kamjong and Ukhrul districts was conducted here today at Ukhrul higher secondary school.

According to press release issued by District Information Office (DIO), Ukhrul, the 2nd round of 280 women polling personnel training was conducted in view of the ensuing state legislative assembly election 2022 for the three assembly constituencies of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts at Ukhrul higher secondary school.

During the training, audio-visual demonstrations on the duties of the polling personnel and hands-on training on use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were thoroughly shared by the masters trainers.

IT Apps including eAtlas, Booth App, Traccar App and Webcasting were imparted to the trainees, it added.

The third round of training for women personnel will be held on March 2.

The DEO of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts Krishna Kumar, IAS, who is also the deputy commissioner of Ukhrul inspected the training and shared words of encouragement to the trainees.

Krishna said election is the greatest festival in a democratic country like India. It is very fortunate that we are a part of it. Therefore a peaceful and smooth conduct of election is our shared responsibility and achievement.

He further urged all the polling officials to get Covid-19 vaccinations saying that it is not only for ourself safety but to safeguard voters is our priority.

In the meanwhile, the District Nodal Officer (DNO) for training management Philip John, MCS, SDO for Sahamphung block stated that male polling personnel which has a total of 867 will have their 3rd round of training on February 25 for 43-Phungyar, while for 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai assembly constituencies will be held on February 26 and March 1 respectively.

Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, having three assembly constituencies will deploy 1107 employees as polling personnel for the 219 polling stations out of which 45 polling stations will be women.
