Senapati: Flag hoisting ceremony for S. Alexander Maikho, BJP candidate of 48-Mao AC was held at Senapati Mini Stadium with Nimbus Nongthombam, Vice President, BJP, Manipur Pradesh and in charge for Senapati district as the chief guest and Sumitra Laloo, National Secretary, Mahila, Manipur in charge as the guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, S. Alexander Maikho, BJP candidate of 48-Mao AC stated that it has been one of his earnest dreams to strive and take big decisions to bring visible changes in the lives of people through concrete infrastructural developments, economic and social advancement. Inspired by this conviction, this was stated to be his desire to work as a public leader at various levels and contest the state legislative assembly elections, 2022 under the banner of National party which is ruling at the centre and in the state. The candidate thanked all concerned for having faith in him by awarding the party ticket to him.

The candidate then shared his dream and vision for the people of his constituency adding inclusive infrastructural development with special focus on the most basic necessities, good road connectivity, water supply, regular electricity, recreational and sports facilities and infrastructure, education and skill development, youth and women empowerment, better healthcare and sanitation. He stated that he knew the road ahead is challenging but hopes that together, they can achieve great things urging all to have hope to fight for democratic rights for growth and development, to believe in justice, peace harmony and progressive development, to respect even one’s opponent and adversaries while continuously striving to reach one’s goal and win the battle for betterment of the society, for the state and the nation. The candidate also asks all to vote for change and development who also asserted for free and fair elections to let democracy rule.

Sumitra Laloo, National Secretary, Mahila, Manipur in charge as the guest of honour sought support from all where the candidate can lead the people to the height where history will be written for the people of the region for tranquillity and development. Where the region lacks in various developmental spheres, the Mahila, Manipur in charge stated that various developmental schemes have been introduced in the country under the able leadership of Modiji as the Prime Minister. While the BJP stands for stability of Govt, the BJP leader asserted that together, we can change the world who asks to convey the message to all. She also mentioned that BJP means development, development and development who urged to choose BJP for equal rights and equal opportunity to every citizen. While the BJP led Govt has brought no bandh, no bloodshed and bringing peace and prosperity in the region, the BJP leader asserted that the polling day could decide the future.

Nimbus Nongthombam, Vice President, BJP, Manipur Pradesh stated that the constituency must have heard of the BJP since the early 1980s. BJP is one of the largest political parties in the world that has largest number of elected representatives. During the past 7 and half years under Modiji as the Prime Minister, other countries have recognised and respect the Indian citizens because of the BJP party. Under the leadership of Modi, the 4 mantras “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and now Sabka Prayas” are vital for all the country. Various developmental projects had been taking place under Biren led Govt in the state in the past. With the BJP candidate elected from Mao AC, the BJP Vice President hopes that different changes could be brought in terms of various developments in the region. Different developmental schemes are stated to line up for women, old age and unemployed literate youth to give them sustainable livelihood if BJP comes back to power in the state, he mentioned.

On being asked how confident is the BJP to win votes from the hill districts, the state BJP V/President answered that BJP did not get elected from the hill districts in the last elections except from Kangpokpi, CCpur and Tamenglong. However, with Biren Singh led BJP Govt came to power since 2017 have brought better relationship among people. People have confidence on the party thereafter adding the CM had reportedly gone into every district of the state and had seen whatever has been lacking at a place since the past. With more confidence of the people on BJP, the BJP leader is confident that more than 10 BJP MLAs are expected from the hill districts out of 20 seats including not less than 2 from Senapati.
