Manipur: 3 active members of proscribed UNLF arrested by Imphal West Police

Imphal: Security forces conducted search operations in fringe and vulnerable areas of Kakching, Churachandpur and Thoubal districts today.

During the operations, two arms and one Indian made Hand Grenade were recovered from Kakching District.

Imphal West District Police also arrested three active members of UNLF organization who were involved in extortion activities. One pistol with a magazine loaded with 8 rounds, 7 mobile phones and one white gypsy without registration number were recovered from them in Manipur.

As per a press note from Manipur Police released on Wednesday evening, during the last 24 hours the situation in the State was tense but under control.

A total of 132 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 1641 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the State. It also says, movement of 343 vehicles along NH-37 and 195 vehicles along NH-2 with essential items have been ensured.
