The Chief Minister in a post on X stated that the meeting undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing law and order situation and associated security concerns. Measures, in accordance with constitutional provisions, were deliberated in detail to effectively respond to the current challenges and to ensure the restoration and maintenance of peace, stability, and public safety.
“The Government remains firmly committed to taking all necessary steps to safeguard the lives and interests of the people and to uphold law and order across the State,” he added.
Meanwhile, the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) has denied any involvement in the Tronglaobi incident, where two siblings were killed, and their mother was injured in an armed attack by suspected assailants.

In a press statement, the UKNA asserted that the allegations of their involvement are completely unfounded and seem to be an intentional attempt to misattribute blame in an already tense environment. They reiterated that their goal is to achieve a just and honorable political solution within the framework of the Constitution of India, and they neither tolerate nor engage in violence against innocent civilians, particularly children, under any circumstances.
The UKNA emphasized that it has worked diligently to safeguard buffer zones to prevent communal escalation and maintain fragile peace. They reiterated their commitment to continue doing so with unwavering resolve. The organization claimed to have refrained from taking decisive action against an unruly mob that breached these buffer zones, ignored central security forces, and approached the CRPF camp at P. Gelmol Kuki Village. The UKNA stated, “The restraint shown in this provocation is evidence that the Kukis were not complicit in the incident.”
Additionally, the UKNA expressed its “strong appreciation for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for its professionalism and composure in defusing a highly volatile situation, thereby averting imminent bloodshed at a time when retaliatory escalation was a real and immediate threat.”

Furthermore, the organization firmly rejected certain media reports claiming that three of its members were arrested in connection with the incident. They characterized these claims as entirely baseless and false. The UKNA urged the media and relevant authorities to act responsibly and refrain from prematurely or inaccurately linking the organization to the incident simply to quell public anger in the valley. “Such irresponsible reporting only deepens mistrust and exacerbates an already delicate situation,” they added.
It may be mentioned that certain media houses have reported that three UKNA cadres were arrested today in connection with the Tronglaobi attack; however, there has been no official confirmation of the arrests from the authorities.
