Manipur COVID-19 cases close to 4000-mark

UT News Service | IMPHAL, Aug 12: Of the 41 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Manipur on Wednesday, 27 have no recent travel history and seven are personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), official sources said.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 3982. Out of these cases, 896 are CAPF and the rest 3086 are local people.

The officials also said that 76 persons were discharged on Wednesday, taking the number of recovered cases to 2231. These included 2059 from the general population and 172 from security forces.

The Health department then said that, out of the 1739 active cases, 724 are Central security force personnel while the rest 1015 are from the general population.
The report put the recovery rate in the state at 56.02%.
