Manipur COVID-19 caseload has come close to 29,000-mark on Monday, with a single-day spike of 11 cases detected.
The 11 fresh cases of the disease detected over the last 24 hours (till 4 pm of January 25) pushed the overall COVID-19 caseloads of the state to 28,997 on Monday, according to the daily update report of the state Health department.
Of the total caseload, only 186 were active cases as the number of recoveries rose to 28,442 with the discharge of 26 patients on Monday after they were cured from the viral disease.
The state’s COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 98.08%, as per the report.
Four of the 11 persons confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases were males and the rest seven were females. All of them were from the general population.
Five of the new cases were Imphal East, two each from Imphal West and Tamenglong, and one each from Kakching and Chandel.
No new COVID-19 fatality was recorded in the state and the death toll stood at 369, the report added.
