Manipur DGP P Doungel removed; Tripura cadre IPS officer new Police chief

Imphal: The Governor of Manipur has transferred the current Director General of Police, Manipur P Doungel to OSD (Home) department, while he has been replaced by a Tripura cadre IPS officer Rajiv Singh with immediate effect.

The order read, “Consequent upon the inter-cadre deputation of Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS (TR:93) from Tripura to Manipur cadre vide OM No. 1.21021/18/2023.IPS-Ill dated 29.5.2023 issued by MHA, Government of India, the Governor of Manipur is pleased to order creation of one post of OSD (Home), Government of Manipur at apex scale of IPS and to order transfer and posting of the following IPS Officers as detailed below with immediate effect and until further orders in public interest.”

It may be noted that P Doungel IPS, before his appointment as DGP Manipur on December 21, 2021 held the post of additional director general of police (ADGP) DG (Prisons).

P Doungel is a former Mr India and patron of the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA).
