Chief electoral officer (CEO), Manipur, Arun Kumar Sinha, announced the publication of the Final Electoral Rolls for all 60 Assembly Constituencies at a press conference held at the CEO Office, Lamphel, on Sunday.

According to the final figures, Kangpokpi’s electorate declined from 99,885 in the Draft Electoral Roll to 88,414, while Senapati also recorded a substantial fall of 4,780 electors, decreasing from 1,42,408 to 1,37,628.

In contrast, Ukhrul saw a significant rise of 5,292 electors, with its electorate increasing from 83,322 to 88,614. Churachandpur recorded the highest increase among the hill districts, adding 5,969 electors and taking its total from 1,55,154 to 1,61,123.

Other hill districts also recorded changes. Tamenglong added 1,750 electors, increasing from 68,223 to 69,973, while Chandel gained 993, rising from 38,073 to 39,066. Kamjong added 453 electors, Pherzawl 408, and Noney 247. Tengnoupal registered a marginal increase of 18 electors, from 39,911 to 39,929.

With the final roll, Churachandpur has the largest electorate among the hill districts at 1,61,123, followed by Senapati with 1,37,628. Ukhrul now has 88,614 electors, narrowly surpassing Kangpokpi’s 88,414.

At the State level, the electorate increased from 19,34,399 in the Draft Roll to 19,60,620 in the Final Electoral Roll, representing a net increase of 26,221 electors. During the revision, 56,871 electors were added while 30,650 were deleted.

Sinha said the revision involved extensive verification of electoral records. Of the 19,34,399 electors in the Draft Roll, 91,178 were identified as unmapped, while notices were issued to 11,30,655 electors over logical discrepancies. In total, 12,21,833 notices were issued during the verification process.

Following hearings and scrutiny of documents, 26,362 electors were marked ineligible after being found to have inadmissible or unsatisfactory documents, or identified as absent, dead, shifted or repeated entries.

The CEO further said 96,985 claims and objections were processed before publication of the Final Electoral Roll.

The final figures indicate substantial movement in the electorate across Manipur’s hill districts, particularly the sharp decline in Kangpokpi and Senapati and the notable increase in Ukhrul and Churachandpur following the revision exercise.
