UKHRUL: The Manipur government has ordered the transfer of all offices and establishments under Thanlon Tribal Development (T.D.) Block from Pherzawl district to Churachandpur district, marking a change in the administrative jurisdiction of the block.
The order, issued by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department on October 27 and published in an extraordinary issue of the Manipur Gazette on October 28, 2026, states that all offices and establishments in Thanlon T.D. Block, which were under Pherzawl district, shall henceforth come under the jurisdiction of Churachandpur district.
The order was issued by the Governor of Manipur in pursuance of the Revenue Department’s notification dated December 8, 2016, concerning the bifurcation of the erstwhile Churachandpur district into Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.
It also refers to a Revenue Department notification dated January 6, 2022, concerning the re-amalgamation of Thanlon Sub-Division with Churachandpur district from Pherzawl district.
