Manipur logs 11 fresh COVID-19 cases, no death in the past 24 hrs

Imphal: Eleven fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours took Manipur’s overall COVID-19 infection count to 1,39,586 on Friday.

The fatality toll, however, remained at 2,143 as no death due to the pandemic reported during the same period.

The latest bulletin of the state health department said that 11 fresh cases were detected in the state upon testing of 407 samples in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate was 2.7%.

It said that four cases each were reported in Imphal West and Churachandpur districts, two in Imphal East and one in Ukhrul district.

Twelve patients were discharged upon recovery on the day. Eight of the patients were from home isolation while the rest four from a hospital. Adding the latest recoveries, the overall recovered cases in the state rose to 1,37,332.

The recovery rate improved to 98.38%. The state has 111 active cases currently.

Meanwhile, with 2,204 more people vaccinated on Thursday, the doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far touched 31,52,498.

The total included 16,24,594 first dose and 12,96,352 second dose. As many as 2,31,552 people have also jabbed with the precautionary dose of the vaccine, the health department added.
