Manipur reported 64 coronavirus positive cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s infection tally to 1,24,250, while two deaths pushed the toll to 1,940, the Health department said.
The fresh cases were detected upon testing of 2,194 samples in the last 24 hours and the positivity rate of the day was 2.9%, it added.
A total of 45 patients were discharged during the day, which took the recovery count to 1,21,586.
The state’s recovery rate is 97.86 per cent, the latest bulletin of the Health department said.
There are 724 active cases in the state at present.
One of the two persons who succumbed to the viral disease had the vaccine against COVID-19 while one of them had comorbidities. The deaths were reported in Imphal West and Thoubal districts.
Imphal West reported 44 cases and one death during the day, which took its tally to 43,381 and death toll to 644.
Imphal East district reported only nine cases and no death. The number of cases in this district is now 27,523 and fatality count 461.
Eight of the remaining 14 districts of the state reported no new cases while three districts reported one case each.
Four new cases were reported in Ukhrul district and two each in Churachandpur and Thoubal districts.
The total number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far rose to 20,24,700 with 7,538 people being vaccinated on Tuesday.
Of these total, 12,55,650 were first doses while the remaining 7,69,050 second doses, the Health department ‘s latest data showed.
