AGARTALA: A cultural exchange between Manipur and Tripura will be held at Dasharath Dev Memorial Auditorium located in Agartala near Supari Bagan area on April 11 with renowned folk singer Benita Laishram headlining the programme as the Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Tripura concluded its 13th Annual General Conference on Sunday with the formation of a new executive committee.
The conference was held at Hotel VIP International in Agartala where PAWF Manipur Secretary Rakesh Naorem presided over the session. The existing executive committee was dissolved after which 19 members drawn from diverse professional backgrounds were elected to constitute the new body.
Eminent writer and cultural activist Kshetrimayum Madhabi was elected President while eminent social and cultural activist Ningombam Pranay assumed the role of Secretary. L. Sandip was elected Vice President. A. Sarit and Leina Takhellambam were chosen as Assistant Secretaries while L. Sani Sharma took charge as Treasurer and Shijagurumayum Anupam was elected Publicity Secretary. Ch. Arbind, Kh. Uttara and N. Amaran were elected as Joint Secretaries while K. Kaushik assumed the position of Office Secretary.

The remaining executive members elected are K. Apurbita, Leishangthem Asha, Khwairakpam Langlen, Nongsatabam Shrudha, Th. Aman, Kh. Ranjana, Mayengbam Barnani Singha and Khumanthem Anima.
Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Naorem highlighted that the PAWF Tripura branch was established on October 3, 2013 with the installation of a statue of Jananeta Hijam Irabot at Lalsingmura. He also noted that the forum was the first organisation in the state to introduce the teaching of Meetei Mayek.
The event was attended by PAWF Tripura Founder President Gurumyum Biplab Sharma along with PAWF Manipur Executive Member Nabakumar Oina and Life Member Yengkhom Bhagyachandra besides several prominent personalities from Tripura.
