Manipur: Two held with 4 Kg of heroin powder

Kangpokpi, Jan 11: Two alleged drug smugglers were arrested with 4.08 Kg of heroin powder by police in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Wednesday.

Police said that a combined team of Kangpokpi police station, Sapermeina police station and Leimakhong police station on joint frisking and checking duty at Leimakhong area intercepted the large quantity of drugs during a check to a car this evening.

During the checking, the team detected 100 soap cases of Heroin powder concealed in the car. The drug weighed 4.080 kg, the police also said.

Two occupants of the car were arrested. They have been identified as Thangminlen Kipgen (32) of Kangpokpi district and Ngamboi Haokip (31) of Churachandpur district.

A regular case has been registered at Sapermeina police station for further investigation, the police added.
