Ukhrul: Adding yet another feather, Chanchui Khayi from Manipur’s Ukhrul district was among the three winners of the 19th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2022 during a glittering grand finale held in Guwahati on Sunday.

Organised by Mega Entertainment, Sarangthem Nirupama Devi, also from Manipur and Assam’s Neha Baruah were also crowned as the winners of the Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2022.

Sharing her experience at one of the Northeast’s biggest pageant events, Chanchui said that “It was certainly different and so well organised, literally amazing production team, no time was wasted, everything was so clear cut. Never experienced such an efficient pageant program.”

A native of Teinem village, Chanchui, who started her journey in glamorous world in 2019 at the Miss Northeast India, says that this was one of the toughest competitions she has been in so far.

She bagged the first runner-up title at Miss Northeast India, 2019.

“I literally gave my best from the moment I stepped into Guwahati for the grooming sessions. I would say I gave it my all to be the best. And I can’t deny it was all worth it,” she said over the phone.

According to her, the winners will be taking a tour and visiting different places and exploring the rich culture of Northeast region for around 19 days in association with Karbi Anglong Tourism.

In 2020, Chanchui was also the winner of K-Pop competition. The annual event was organized by the Korean Cultural Center India (KCCI) and sponsored by Korean brands Samsung, Limese and Innisfree. The competition was held for vocal and dance categories.
