Mao Council suspends taxi services to Mao area amidst surge in Covid-19

Local transmission till date stands at 49 as recorded on October 8 for Senapati District with 5 new cases detected on the day.

Consequent upon the rapid rise and detection of Covid-19 cases in and around Mao area under Senapati district and subsequent measures needed to be considered urgently, the office of the Mao Council served certain dos and don’ts to the entire Mao villages for stringent adherence.

The Office of the Mao Council suspended all taxi services of Mao community operating within the jurisdiction of Mao with immediate effect until further notice.

All inbound/homeward travellers have been asked to possess negative test result obtained from authorised medical laboratories. The office further asked all for stringent adherence of the SOP guidelines issued by the health department and compulsory quarantine of all inbound travellers from outside state.

The notice is mentioned to have issued in public interest for safety and security of the community as people continue to struggle and live in the midst of the pandemic.

Mention may be made that the number of local transmission till date stands at 49 as recorded on October 8 for Senapati District with 5 new cases detected on the day. There are 489 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 232 are positive at present with 257 recovered so far although there is no death due to Covid-19 from the district.
