Shillong, July 30: The third edition of the Meghalaya Pineapple Fest will be held in the national capital, Delhi, from August 1 to August 3, 2025, at Dilli Haat, INA, showcasing Meghalaya’s tropical sweetness, cultural heritage, and music from the hills. Organised by the Government of Meghalaya, the festival celebrates the state’s flagship fruit, the pineapple alongside crafts, indigenous flavours, and grassroots talent. Juicy organic Kew pineapples with high Brix value and folk performances curated under the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Program (CM-MGMP) will be featured. The India Gate will offer a unique experience of Meghalaya’s rich culture and music.
Over 30,000 farmers across Ri-Bhoi and the Garo Hills grow pineapples naturally with support from self-help groups (SHGs) ensuring quality and traceability.

Meghalaya’s pineapples now reach far and wide through partnerships with entities like Lulu Group and Mother India. More than 757 metric tonnes of processed pineapples have been exported to the European Union’s baby food industry. Recently, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman flagged off premium pineapples to Dubai, now available at Lulu Hypermarkets.
This success is backed by an ecosystem including over 500 farmer collectives, interest-free loans, cold storages, processing units, mobile packhouses, and farm-to-airport logistics. The flagship initiative FOCUS has helped provide trial marketing grants and strengthen farmer-market links.
The first two editions in 2023 and 2024 catalysed international collaborations and national attention. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the festival as a celebration of India’s “diverse agricultural heritage” empowering farmers. The Meghalaya Pineapple Festival 2025 promises a memorable celebration of agricultural heritage, arts, and cuisine perfect for food lovers, culture enthusiasts, and weekend visitors.
