Imphal: The heinous crime of setting fire to paddy crop revisited in Manipur with the advent of the harvesting season.

Unidentified miscreants set fire to stacks of paddy, which were kept for threshing at four places in Imphal West district, allegedly on November 9.

The owners of the paddy crops said that the miscreants might have burnt down the stacks after midnight.

In the morning, fire tenders rushed to the spots and doused the fire. However, the paddy crops were almost reduced to ashes.

Paddy crops in large quantities were destroyed in the fire incident.
