MK Preshow distributes Essentials to Halang; Village Covid Committee Expresses Appreciation

Former deputy speaker MK Preshow after a fruitful meeting with MoS Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State Education and External Affairs, GoI on August 21, where they discussed among other matters, pending projects and appealed Dr Ranjan for an early establishment and construction of border haats bazaar at Tusom village, Preshow Shimray’s family and Karyakartas of BJP 45-Chingai Mandal today, visited Halang village including Halang Ato Tang.

The visiting team met Mr Wungmaling Huileng, the Headman of the village, Convenor of COVID Relief Committee, representatives of Shanao long and Katamnao Long including Chairman of Ato Tang Committee and Pastor Rev Ephraim Shaiza.

The visiting team while wished and prayed for early recovery from Covid related sicknesses, distributed relief essentials such as rice, potatoes, salts, onions and hand sanitizers to the Committee.

The village Authorities and the committee thanked Shri MK Preshow and his co-workers and wished and prayed for God’s blessings in their endeavours in the days to come.

It may be recalled that the District Administration sealed the village as containment zone after confirming 44 Covid-19 positive cases on a single day.

The whole of Halang village has been in containment zone since August 16 till today. The whole village has been facing hardship in procuring day to day essential commodities ever since.

The village requires every possible assistance including the District Administration during these harsh pandemic times. The lockdown in the village has affected the livelihood of the villagers especially the farmers and downtrodden. The villagers seek for intervention at the earliest from the government.

Meanwhile, Halang Covid Committee expressed appreciation to Preshow for extending generous help by contributing 25 bags of rice, 5 bags of potatoes, 5 bags of salt and 2 bags of onion.

“His constant concern and support for the people of Halang will always be remembered in the future to come,” stated Khanmung Chamroy, Convener, Halang Covid Committee.
