MLA Leishiyo Keishing resigns as Advisor to CM & Chairman EC

Leishiyo Keishing, sitting MLA of 43 Phungyar constituency (ST) of Kamjong district on September 11, submitted his resignations from the post of chairman, estimate committee and advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister. MLA Leishiyo was appointed as advisor of Chief Minister N Biren along with former cabinet minister Th Shyamkumar on May 15, 2020.

With this, Naga People’s Party (NPF) Manipur state unit, the alliance party to the ruling BJP government has PHED minister L Dikho and the other, NPF Manipur state unit president Awangbou Newmai inducted on May 29, 2020 in the ministerial berth in the CM N Biren Singh-led BJP coalition government.

Meanwhile, election to the office of the Chairman of Hill Area Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is slated for 11:30AM on September 16th as per order issued by Governor of Manipur on September 9.
